The first Philippine woman expedition to Mt. Everest climbers Katrina Dayondon, Noelle Wesceslao and Janet Bilarmino, left in Manila today for Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. The three climbers will attempt to enter the record books as the first Filipina's to reach Everest peak.
The lady climbers spent three years preparing for Everest and will spend an additional two weeks in Kathmandu to get used to the icy climate.
Leo Oracion and Erwin Emata, the very first Filipino male climbers in history to summit the world-famous peak last year, are accompanying Dayondon and company to the Everest base camp to help them in their climb.
